Fitness Skill Tree

Seed Software

Structured progression programs for goals like a handstand, a pistol squat, or a pull-up already exist — GMB Fitness, Overcoming Gravity, Convict Conditioning all have real tree content. What none of them do well is actually assess someone’s real foundational weaknesses before placing them on a progression, or genuinely explain why each step connects to the goal rather than defaulting to generic “do this, then this” sequencing — the same failure mode most personal trainers fall into without the time to truly personalize.

The differentiator isn’t the tree content itself, it’s the placement and the explanation: a lightweight self-assessment that puts you at the right starting point based on your actual current strength and mobility, paired with real explanatory content at each step on how it connects to the goal, not just what the exercise is. A first version would build just one goal tree end to end — most likely pull-up progression, since it’s well-documented — as an interactive, clickable web experience rather than a static program.

Aimed at anyone working toward a specific bodyweight goal who’s tired of generic linear programs that don’t explain themselves.
