Existing note-taking graph views show flat link networks, not the kind of hierarchical, cross-discipline structure this is really after — prerequisite trees, discipline color-coding, path-finding between distant concepts. Whether the existing plugin ecosystem (Obsidian’s native graph, Juggl, Breadcrumbs) already covers this well enough is genuinely unconfirmed, and there isn’t yet a personal vault with enough cross-discipline content to test any of it against.

This one is honestly still exploratory rather than scoped — the actual next step is trying the existing Obsidian plugins against a real cross-discipline vault once that content exists, before considering any custom build at all. If the existing tools fall short in a specific, identifiable way once there’s real content to test against, that gap becomes the actual spec.

A personal learning and notes tool, not aimed at anyone else — blocked for now on having enough cross-discipline vault content to actually be worth visualizing.
